ARCTIC A4 BR

Compact HMWPE search and rescue boat with bow ramp

The Arctic A4 BR (Bow Ramp) is a compact, highly durable work boat developed by Arctic Boats in cooperation with the Finnish Police. It was originally designed as a custom solution for search and rescue dogs, featuring a bow ramp specifically to allow these specially trained dogs to scent-track water surfaces safely. The A4 BR combines high stability, shallow-water capability and easy bow access, making it ideal for rescue, inspection, patrol, flood response, environmental operations and specialized canine missions.

Its hull is constructed from High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (HMWPE) – a lightweight, corrosion-resistant and extremely impact-resistant material – providing low maintenance, long service life and robustness even in harsh operational conditions. The design reflects Arctic Boats’ expertise in creating modular, mission-adaptable vessels that balance performance, safety and versatility.

Equipment

Bow ramp for safe, easy access to the water, shore or dock, enabling efficient unloading of equipment, beaching without the need for jumping or ladders and smooth transfer of personnel, animals and rolling carts on and off the boat.
Front working area suitable for handling equipment or dogs.
Retractable lift-mounted sonar transducers.
Optional stainless-steel propeller guard.
Three watertight buoyancy compartments for safety and redundancy.
Support for multifunction displays (MFDs) and mission sensors.
